I have been told a few times, “You are doing too much.” They tell me you have your work; however, then when someone asks you to help, you do. In fact, sometimes I tell my own self the same thing. When I am so stressed from running around to get everything done, I feel overwhelmed at times. I was asked once, “Do you know how to say no?”
I do but it is something that I don’t like to say. There are people who will cut off their whole family, just so they don’t have to help them. I wonder if they had something happen to them, who would they call? Remember the story of the man who was dead in his home for a week before someone checked on him. There are stories like that all the time being reported all the time, it is sad to me. What are you really working hard for if your life and everything you own means nothing?
I don’t run a multimillion dollars company or have to manage thousand of employees. It can be demanding to keep up with things going on when you are responsible for thousands.
Some people choose to working hard; while others choose to focus on education and studying. Some people choose to have a large family and dedicate their lives them, while some people focus only on a career. There are people who live in the moment while other plan life down to the meal they will be eating.
A friend of mine said to me that she own her own company, and it is a 7-24 responsibility. She said no there is not time for a social life, not even regular church. To be successful it takes hard work and dedication, you have to cut out extras. I don’t own a company; I may have done more, and I am doing a lot compared to what she has done in life. It is a trade-off on what you consider important, and how much you can handle. I try not to have regrets, so I do as much as I can.
Chapter two of a new life: What are you looking at in the mirror?
